About Me…
I sometimes go by the handle of D.K. Latta and I'm a Canadian sometimes fiction writer and self-appointed pop commentator who has opined about Canadian film & TV (at "The Great Canadian Guide to the Movies & TV"...and elsewhere), comic books/graphic novels (at "The Masked Bookwyrm's Graphic Novel Reviews"...and elsewhere) and storytelling in general (with some essays at the archived Pulp & Dagger Fiction) and am now turning my astute and canny observations (read: incessant blathering) toward a Blog that will, variously, touch on these topics...and more. Oooh...and I also love radio drama!Categories
Quote du Jour…ish
"I object to you. I object to intellect without discipline. I object to power without constructive purpose." ~ Spock, "Star Trek: The Squire of Gothos"-

The Lost Art of Being Canadian (Part 2)
Okay…so last time I was revisiting a familiar pet peeve of mine, about the way certain Canadian storytellers tend to pretend their stories (settings, characters) aren’t Canadian…or present Canada in a rather dismissive, even contemptuous way. But that was really … Continue reading

And so, it begins…
Okay — it’s a blog. I’ve been writing opinions in various forums (generally about pop culture, often focused on Canadiana) for a long time now, usually as posted essays. And now I’m going to try doing that all as part … Continue reading
